This is my story

Hi, my name is Bell. But you know me as “Calssara”.

How it started

I made and wore my first costume in 2004. A year before that, I visited my first ever convention - Animagic in Koblenz, Germany. I saw people walking around in their amazing, handmade costumes and made the decision to make a costume by myself for the next year. Fast forward one week before the con, I finally stopped procrastinating and started working on my first ever costume. I had an amazing time, met new friends and did not stop cosplaying ever since.

I have been making costumes, meeting people and enjoying my time with cosplay ever since.

Award winning cosplayer

I have participated in multiple international contests over the years.

In 2012 I won the title of Champion in the “European Cosplay Gathering” with my cosplay of Saber from Fate/Stay Night on the stage at Japan Expo in Paris.

I was selected as Team Germany for the “World Cosplay Summit” in 2009, 2011 and in 2021.
Together with my partner Elffi, we won the title as World Champions in 2021.

Traveling the world - spreading the word

At my booth at a convention in SOUTH AFRICA in 2017.

After Participating in contests, I was granted the honor to appear as “cosplay guest” at events, become a jury member in multiple contests and host workshops and panels about various cosplay topics. I really enjoy judging contests because it gives me the opportunity to see amazing costumes up close and rewarding the makers with wonderful prices.

This gave me a great opportunity to travel around the world and enjoy the hobby with different communities. I love to learn more more about what cosplay means to different people and teach others about cosplaying, costume making, the community and contests.

So far, I visited over 40 countries on 4 continents as a cosplay guest, judge, panelist and representative.

Teaching the next generation

Teaching young people how to make costumes.

I actually work as a librarian in a big, modern city library. I am responsible for our maker space area, which includes many tools to work on creative projects for everyone, such as 3D printer, laser cutter, embroidery machine and many more. Many different communities gather at the library to use it as a space to share and explore their hobbies and interests. Specially young people enjoy the opportunity in club activities such as gaming clubs, manga club, comic club, pen and paper role play meetings and of course…the COSPLAY CLUB.
In the cosplay club, I am teaching young people to work on their own costumes and trying to give them the opportunity to have a save space to explore their interests.

Everyone can learn how to create. Sometimes we might need a bit of help, but working together makes it even more fun!

Media coverage

Telling people about cosplay and teaching them that it is a great hobby can be a difficult task, due to prejudice. But over the years it have been given some changes to talk about this wonderful hobby in newspapers, radio and even in TV.
